Ross Secures $200,000 in House for

Drew County Memorial Hospital

(Washington, D.C.) U.S. Representative Mike Ross (AR-04) has successfully secured $200,000 for the Drew County Memorial Hospital in Monticello, in the Fiscal Year 2008 House Labor, Health and Human Services Appropriations Bill. The bill passed the full U.S. House of Representatives Thursday evening.

Ross said the funds will be used for the construction of facilities and the purchase of equipment for Drew County Memorial Hospital.

“As a member of the Health Subcommittee of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, I am committed to doing everything I can to secure important federal resources for our rural health care providers in the Delta Region,” Ross said. “Securing this funding is a step in the right direction for Drew County Memorial Hospital as these resources would allow for the expansion of their facilities and offer more specialized services to patients in Drew County and in Southeast Arkansas.”

Upon passage of the Labor, Health and Human Services Appropriations Bill in the Senate, the measure will then go to a Conference Committee of House and Senate members who will work to combine both Chambers’ bills to form a Conference Report. Upon passage of the Conference Report by the full House and Senate, the final bill will then be sent to the President to be signed into law.
