Local Student, Gabby Harlow, Completes
House Page Program in Washington, D.C.

(Washington, D.C.)

U.S. Representative. Mike Ross (AR-04) commended local student, Gabby Harlow of Prescott, for successfully completing the House Page Program in Washington, D.C.

“I am proud of Gabby for all of her hard work this summer and I wish her success in all of her future endeavors,” Ross said. “The House Page Program is designed to expose students to our federal government and the legislative process, experiences that simply cannot be learned in a classroom,” said Ross. “The House Page Program provides a unique setting for student leaders to not only understand the importance of public service, but also with the ability to see it firsthand in a working environment.”

Gabby was nominated for the House Page Program by Ross and appointed by the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi. She was one of only 60 pages selected from across the country to participate in the summer House Page Program.

The United States House of Representatives Page Program is a program run by the United States House of Representatives in which appointed high school juniors or seniors act as non-partisan federal employees in the House of Representatives, providing administrative support to House operations in a variety of capacities in Washington, D.C., at the United States Capitol.

Some responsibilities of House pages include transporting legislative documents between Congressional offices and delivering new bills and amendments to the House floor both partisan and non-partisan. Pages are nominated by their congressman based upon a highly competitive application process.

Gabby Harlow is a senior at Prescott High School. She is the daughter of Sandy Harlow of Prescott.
