Ross, Lincoln, Pryor Announce
$230,000 for Warren

(Washington, D.C.) U.S. Representative Mike Ross (AR-04) along with Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor announced Monday that the city of Warren has been awarded a $230,000 grant through the Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration’s (EDA) Grant Program.

The funds will go towards the completion of the wastewater pre-treatment facility in Warren, by increasing the capacity necessary for the retention, expansion and attraction of new businesses and jobs.

“These vital funds will help to create 100 new jobs and bring new economic development opportunities to Warren,” Ross said. “I am proud of the work the City of Warren and the Southeast Arkansas Economic Development District is doing and look forward to working with the city as it continues to grow and prosper through exciting economic development initiatives like this EDA grant.”

“This federal investment will help expand infrastructure critical to the creation of new jobs in the area,” said Lincoln.  “I commend the citizens of Warren for seeking these additional resources to improve their community.”

“Adequate and affordable wastewater infrastructure is key to continued economic growth,” said Pryor. “This critical investment is important to the standard of living for Warren residents and their surrounding environment.”

The EDA serves as a venture capital resource to meet the economic development needs of distressed communities throughout the United States. The EDA’s mission is to lead the federal economic development agenda by promoting innovation and competitiveness, preparing American regions for growth and success in the worldwide economy.
