Ross, Lincoln, Pryor Announce
$25,838 for McGehee

(Washington, D.C.) U.S. Representative Mike Ross (AR-04) along with Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor, announced Tuesday that the city of McGehee will receive a $25,838 Rural Development grant through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).  The funds will be used to purchase two new police cars.

“Our local law enforcement officers are the front line of security to keep our neighborhoods and communities safe, and these federal resources will allow them to acquire the needed tools to help perform their duties for the people of McGehee,” Ross said.

“Cities throughout Arkansas depend on federal dollars in order to protect and improve their communities,” said Lincoln. “I applaud the citizens of McGehee for seeking these funds to purchase new equipment that will help first responders keep local families safe.”

“These two new patrol cars will enable McGehee law enforcement officers to build on their commitment to protect the community and respond to emergencies as efficiently and effectively as possible,” said Pryor. “As a member of the Senate’s Homeland Security Committee, I will continue to identify and support programs that ensure local law enforcement officials have the resources and equipment to protect the communities they serve.”

USDA Rural Development grants support public facilities and services, promote economic development, and offer technical assistance to help address the diverse and unique needs of rural communities.
