Ross Secures Funding in Final Congressional Spending Bill for Arkansas’s Fourth Congressional District

(Washington, D.C.) U.S. Representative Mike Ross (AR-04) announced that legislation passed late Monday night begins to reinvest in America’s infrastructure and provides critical support for projects in Arkansas’s Fourth Congressional District. The funding was included in the Fiscal Year 2008 Consolidated Appropriations Act, also referred to as the Omnibus appropriations package.

“I am proud to have helped secure this vital funding which will provide jobs and create economic opportunities for Arkansas’s Fourth Congressional District,” Ross said. “Securing these funds demonstrates the commitment of Congress to these projects despite a tightened belt and across-the-board spending cuts. I am pleased to have worked with my colleagues in the Arkansas Congressional Delegation to ensure that these funds were included in the final spending bill.”

The omnibus appropriations package combines eleven of the twelve annual spending bills which fund the U.S. Government each year. Earlier this year, Ross helped pass the Department of Defense Appropriations Act of 2008, which has been signed into law by the President. The Senate is now expected to approve the measure before it can be sent to the President to be signed into law.
