WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Rep. Rick Renzi (AZ-01) announced today that White Mountain Lake Volunteer Fire District will be receiving $285,000 in federal funds to enhance the fire department’s ability to respond to fire and fire related hazards. The grant was awarded by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security under the Assistance to Firefighters Grants.
“I am delighted that the first responders at the White Mountain Lake Volunteer Fire District will be receiving this grant to enhance their ability to fight fires and other dangerous hazards,” said Congressman Renzi. “The heroes at the fire district put themselves in harm’s way everyday to protect our families and homes from fires and other disasters, and it is vital that they have the tools they need to perform their jobs safely and effectively.”
This grant will help fund vehicles for the White Mountain Lake Volunteer Fire District. This grant is a part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s efforts to strengthen the Nation’s overall level of preparedness and ability to respond to fire related hazards.
