Congressman Trent Franks Offers Condolences to Families of Helicopter Crash Victims

July 27, 2007 – Congressman Trent Franks (AZ-02) today extended his deepest sympathies to the families, friends, and coworkers of those killed in the helicopter collision above Indian School Park.  The crash involved helicopters from television channels KTVK 3 and ABC15.  KTVK has confirmed pilot Scott Bowerbank and photographer Jim Cox have died in the crash, which happened as both helicopters were covering a high speed chase in Phoenix.  ABC 15 has also reported that Chopper15 Pilot Craig Smith and Photojournalist Rick Krolak were also on board at the time of the crash.

“My heartfelt prayers and sympathy go out to the loved ones of these dedicated individuals who lost their lives while working to make the lives of others safer.  While we cannot begin to comprehend the grief of their families and loved ones, I hope they know that as a community, we stand with them with open hearts and hands, and a desire to support them in any way possible.  May God comfort each of them as only He can.”

Congressman Franks is serving his third term in the U.S. House of Representatives, and is a member of the Committee on Armed Services, Strategic Forces Subcommittee, Readiness Subcommittee, Committee on the Judiciary, and is Ranking Member on the Constitution Subcommittee.
