Washington, D.C. – Representative Zoe Lofgren (D-San Jose) today was selected as Chair of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration, Citizenship, Refugees, Border Security, and International Law for the 110^th Congress. 

“As Chair of the Immigration Subcommittee, I will work in a bipartisan manner to enact practical, lasting immigration reform that works for our country,” said Rep. Lofgren.  “It is time to tailor the immigration system to the real needs and priorities of our country.  We need to finally secure our borders and end illegal immigration once and for all.”

Before running for elected office, Rep. Lofgren practiced immigration law in San Jose, California and taught immigration law at the Santa Clara University School of Law.  Rep. Lofgren has served on the Judiciary Committee since her election to the 104^th Congress and the Immigration Subcommittee since the 105^th Congress.
