WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Cardoza announced today that U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will be visiting Stanislaus County on Wednesday August 26th.

Congressman Cardoza is hosting a luncheon with the local agricultural community, and the Secretary will attend as a special guest and as part of his nationwide Rural Tour.

“Since Secretary Vilsack was appointed to his position I have been discussing the many challenges the Central Valley’s agriculture community faces,” said Congressman Cardoza, chair of the House Agriculture Subcommittee on Horticulture and Organic Agriculture. “This is a tremendous opportunity to discuss such challenges as the water crisis and the decline in dairy prices, as well as other issues unique to California agriculture and specialty crops. I am grateful that he is taking me up on my invitation to visit my district and meet some of the hardest working farmers and growers he will ever meet.”
