WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Dennis Cardoza expressed his concerns today to the FDIC about the recent failure of County Bank. “The placing of County Bank in FDIC receivership has been a great shock to my constituents and my district as a whole,” said Congressman Cardoza. “County Bank was a vital institution to our community, and I received news of its failure with great sadness. It is critical that its acquisition by Westamerica be as smooth as possible.” Congressman Cardoza confirmed with the FDIC today that information about continued health benefits should be received by former County Bank employees by Feb. 24, 2009. Constituents are also encouraged to call any of Congressman Cardoza’s offices with questions about with expanded COBRA benefits included in the recently passed economic stimulus bill. “It’s important that my constituents, particularly County Bank employees, get all the support they need during these difficult times.” |
