Congressman Cardoza announces stimulus grants for food and shelter |

WASHINGTON, DC – Counties in the 18th Congressional District will receive more than $780,000 in Emergency Food and Shelter Program grants, Congressman Cardoza announced today. The funds are part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, enacted by Congress and part of President Obama’s economic stimulus package. The grants will be awarded as follows: • Merced County – $144,736 • San Joaquin County – $345,032 • Stanislaus County – $290,285 “These funds are being directed to one of the regions that has been hardest hit by the economic recession,” said Congressman Cardoza. “I am pleased to announce these grants. I will continue the fight back in Washington to ensure that the San Joaquin Valley receives its share of economic recovery funding.” |
