Pacoima, CA - With support from Congressman Howard Berman, the Youth Policy Institute was the recipient of a $285,000 federal appropriation for the San Fernando Valley Poverty Initiative.  Modeled after President Obama's Promise Neighborhoods and the Harlem Children's Zone, the SFV Poverty Initiative links with existing Youth Policy Institute poverty and education programs such as the Family Development Network.
