Rep. Berman calls on President Bush to Fire Broadcasting Board of Governors Chairman Kenneth Tomlinson after Investigation Reveals Serious Misconduct
 
 
Washington, D.C. - On July 15, 2005, Rep. Berman and two colleagues sent a letter to State Department Inspector General Howard Krongard asking him to investigate allegations of serious misconduct by Broadcasting Board of Governors Chairman Kenneth Tomlinson, a Bush appointee.
 
On August 28, 2006, the Inspector General reported to Rep. Berman on the results of his investigation, which confirmed the four allegations addressed in Rep. Berman’s letter and revealed additional wrongdoing. 
 
On August 29, Rep. Berman wrote a letter calling on President Bush to remove Tomlinson from office.
 
On September 8, Reps. Berman and Lantos wrote a letter to International Relations Committee Chairman Henry Hyde urging him to hold hearings on Tomlinson's unethical conduct.
