Rep. Diane E. Watson Selects
Congressional Page

Los Angeles, CA--Rep. Diane E. Watson selected Mr. Junia McKenzie to be a member of the Congressional Page Program which serves the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C.  Unlike prior semesters, Mr. McKenzie is spending his fall semester on Capitol Hill as a high school junior studying Math, English, & Science.

Congresswoman Watson chose Mr. McKenzie based on his 4.0 G.P.A at King Drew Magnet High School, his community involvement, and his aspirations for the future.

As a Congressional Page, Mr. McKenzie is carrying on a tradition of young stewardship.

“On a rotating basis members of the U.S. House of Representative take part in the Congressional Page Program where we select the most outstanding students. I have great pride in selecting Junia McKenzie  because he exemplifies the best and brightest here in the city of Los Angeles,” said Rep. Watson.

Each year rising juniors are referred by a congressional representative and approved by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.  The Page program is a highly competitive program.  As part of the House staff, Congressional Pages work on the House floor and are are assigned to deliver correspondence, legislative materials, and small packages within the congressional complex.

During their stay in Washington,Congressional Pages reside in the House Page Residence on Capitol Hill.
