Los Angeles, CA--Congresswoman Diane E. Watson (D-33) joined in the celebration of Hangawee during the annual Korean Festival parade on Saturday, September 19, 2009.  The four day Korean Festival began Thursday, September 17, 2009 and ended Sunday, September 20, 2009.  The festival celebrated unity, community, and culture.

“I was pleased to participate in the 36th Annual Korean Festival. I am proud to represent the Korean community as we partner to advance the Korean community, culture, and pride,” said Rep. Watson. “I will continue to work hand in hand with the Korean community to improve their quality of life and maintain their cultural heritage here in America.

The festival celebrates traditional Korean heritage with rhythmic Korean music, food, and games. This year’s  festival focused on showcasing the cultural heritage of Korean Americans of all ages.
