WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, following a request from U.S. Congressman John Salazar, Greyhound Lines Inc., has reversed its decision to discontinue service to Alamosa. According to Greyhound officials, the decision is temporary while the company develops an alternative plan for providing service to Alamosa and residents of the San Luis Valley community. On Greyhound’s decision to continue service, Congressman Salazar offered the following statement:
“I sincerely appreciate Greyhound’s quick and supportive response to the concerns of the residents of the San Luis Valley,” said Congressman Salazar. “Greyhound currently provides an important service to rural communities like ours, a service that many members of the community have come to depend on. These days it’s crucial that we keep our mass transit options available and it’s a welcome sign when a company like Greyhound not only hears the concerns of community members but responds to them.
