Rep. Wasserman Schultz Welcomes General Dynamics to Broward County; New Jobs Bolster Local Economy

Sunrise, FL – U.S. Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz (FL-20) today announced that on June 2, 2008, General Dynamics C4 Systems will open a new engineering design center in Sunrise, FL.
The 20,000 square-foot design center will be located at 1000 Sawgrass Corporate Parkway. Initially, 50 software and systems engineers will be employed there to work on U.S. Department of Defense tactical-networking and next-generation communications programs such as the Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (WIN-T) and the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS). General Dynamics employment in Sunrise could grow to more than 100 jobs in the near future.
“This investment by General Dynamics C4 Systems recognizes the caliber of the workforce that we have here in South Florida,” said Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz. “I am very excited to see this level of commitment to South Florida and welcome this design center to my Congressional District.”
Chris Marzilli, president of General Dynamics C4 Systems, said, “The highly skilled workforce in South Florida, combined with the excellent quality of life and proximity to outstanding colleges and universities, makes this is an ideal location for us to open shop.
