Abercrombie names Angelie Angeles as
US House page

Washington, -- Congressman Neil Abercrombie announced today that he has chosen Angelie Angeles, a Waipahu High School student, to serve as a U.S. House of Representatives page in Washington, DC for the 2006 summer session.

Ms. Angeles is 16 years old, maintains a 3.9 grade point average, ranks 7th out of 825 in her class, and participates in numerous extracurricular activities.

House pages work as messengers and perform other light duties in the U.S. Capitol complex, and live in a supervised dormitory.

“I’m proud to be appointing someone as highly qualified as Ms. Angeles,” said Abercrombie. “This is a wonderful opportunity for her and the other pages.  She’ll live and work with other young people from around the country and get a close up look of Congress at work.  It’s an experience that broadens horizons and creates lifetime memories for the pages who participate in the program.”
