Neil's Spotlight
Manoa family going to Inauguration

December 23, 2008

Sean, Lisa-Maria, and "Jazz" Priester of Manoa will be among the tens of thousands of people who are expected on the National Mall to see Hawaii-born President-elect Barack Obama get sworn into office. Sean, the Executive Chef at the Top of Waikiki restaurant, says he hopes to get the chance someday to cook for President-elect Obama.

"Diversity, Love, Integration informs how I cook and how I live. Obama represents everything I have dreamed of where diversity is embraced, integration is appreciated and love is the platform on how we treat each other, recognizing we are all in this together, doing the best we can with what we have and we are stronger working together than apart. As a father I hope my son will live in a society that will embrace him, love him, encourage him and respect him. My wife and I want my son to witness, what I believe is, this historical paradigm shift and the fruition of my American dream, realized." -- Sean Priester, Manoa, Executive Chef, Top of Waikiki.
