Washington D.C. - Congressman Steve King today celebrated with the American people as a Senate amnesty vote failed for the second time. The bill was first defeated on June 7th of this year.
“The second and final death of the Senate amnesty bill is a victory for the entire nation. The American people rose up, shouting a resounding “NO” and saved the republic from the open borders lobby. No amount of White House communications or liberal propaganda could change the American public’s opposition to amnesty,” stated King.
The Senate bill failed by a margin of 14 votes.
“It’s dead, again! There will be no amnesty coming out of the U.S. Senate. Now is the time the American people must help us force the Administration to enforce current law and build a border fence,” King added.
Congressman Steve King (R-IA) is the top Republican on the Immigration Subcommittee of the U.S. House Judiciary Committee. He is also Chairman of the innovative Conservative Opportunity Society, founded by Newt Gingrich.
