"I am pleased to announce the Subcommittee Ranking Members and Subcommittee membership today. As one of the most legislatively active Committees in Congress, these Members will serve an important role in shaping public policy concerning the Nation’s public lands, energy resources, fish and wildlife habitat, and Native American and Insular area affairs," said Rahall.
Pallone said, "As a member who represents large shoreline communities in Monmouth County, fisheries and oceans issues are critically important to my constituents both economically and recreationally. I'm pleased once again to serve as the ranking Democrat on the House Fisheries and Oceans Subcommittee, and look forward to working in a bipartisan fashion with the subcommittee's chairman, Wayne Gilchrest."
On her appointment to the Parks Subcommittee leadership position, Delegate Donna Christensen said, "I am glad to serve once again as the Ranking Member on the Subcommittee on National Parks. It is important to the territories that I have a leadership role on the Resources Committee and I am heartened to serve the best interests of our public lands across the country that are vital national treasures."
Napolitano said on her water panel appointment, "I look forward to working with our new subcommittee chair, Rep. George Radanovich, in continuing the work that benefits the nation’s waterways. Water is key in every state, and the federal government plays a crucial role in assessing how to meet the needs of states and cities."
On his appointment to the Ranking position on the Forests and Forest Health Subcommittee, Udall said, "This subcommittee is extremely important to New Mexico as we try to find solutions for effective forest and public lands management. Through oversight of the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management programs and laws, we will work to protect our forests and public lands so that future generations may enjoy them."
Grijalva noted on his appointment: "It is an honor for me to serve as the new ranking member for the Energy and Mineral Resources Subcommittee.
