WASHINGTON, D.C. (JANUARY 3, 2005) ---- I am saddened by the recent death of Congressman Robert T. Matsui.  A friend and fellow colleague, Bob’s presence will be sorely missed in the walls of Congress and on the streets of California.  Bob’s commitment to fight on behalf on his constituents is undeniable, and his dedication to equality is unforgettable. I want to express my deepest condolences to his family, and pray that they find comfort in Bob’s indelible contributions to American history.
