U.S. Rep. Bobby L. Rush announces Annual Congressional High School Arts Competition: "An Artistic Discovery" |

CHICAGO -- U.S. Representative Bobby L. Rush is seeking submissions for the "An Artistic Discovery" annual Congressional High School Arts Competition from eligible students from the 1st Congressional District of Illinois. Any student at a public or private high school, including alternative or vocational schools, in the 1st Congressional District is eligible to submit a work of art by 5 p.m. on May 15, 2009. The competition is a yearly event held in each of the 435 Congressional Districts, including the 1st Congressional District in Illinois. It highlights the importance of art education by recognizing outstanding talented young artists in their districts. The winning entries are exhibited for a year in a display in the U.S. Capitol. Artwork must be two-dimensional (no sculpture) and can be in any medium, including painting, drawing, collage, print, mixed media, computer generated or photography, no larger then 30'' by 30'' to the outside dimensions of the frame and it must be ready to hang.
