GREAT BEND — Congressman Jerry Moran today announced that the Barton County town hall meeting planned for this Thursday has been cancelled because of the funeral services for Gary Gore.   Moran will attend the 4-H Businessman’s Breakfast that morning in Great Bend, as planned, then will attend the funeral services. 

Area residents that wish to meet with Moran can join him at other tour stops later in the day.  The schedule for the rest of the day is as follows:

Thursday, July 7
Stafford County, Seward- 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.- Mom’s Bar and Grill, 420 Lincoln Avenue
Pawnee County, Larned- 12:30-1:30 p.m.- Ft. Larned National Historic Site, RR 3
Rush County, La Crosse- 2:15-3:15 p.m.- Barbed Wire Museum, 120 W. 1st Street

“Gary was a good friend and a tremendous advocate on behalf of Great Bend and Barton County,” Moran said about Gore.  “His upbeat attitude was an inspiration to many in central Kansas.  He will be greatly missed.”
