WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Jerry Moran today announced that Sarah Braun of Hays, Janet Hammond of Larned and Mary Kate Ludwig of Beloit are interns in Moran’s office.

“The internship program is a great opportunity for young people to get a better understanding of the federal government,” Moran said.  “As First District natives and outstanding students, these young ladies represent the best of what Kansas has to offer.  I’m happy to have them working on behalf of Kansans.”

Sarah is a 2001 graduate of Hays High School and is now a senior at Fort Hays State University, working towards a degree in Organizational Leadership and Communication Studies.  At FHSU, Sarah is involved in Mortar Board, Phi Kappa Phi, Leadership Studies Association, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Alpha Lambda Delta and SPURS.  In previous years, Sarah has been a New Student Orientation Advisor, Kansas Youth Leadership Camp Counselor, and a VIP Student Ambassador.  Outside of campus, Sarah spends most of her time volunteering for Big Brothers Big Sisters.  Following graduation this December, she plans to attend graduate school.  Sarah is the daughter of Jim and Sandy Braun of Hays.

Janet is a 2003 graduate of Larned High School and is now a senior at Fort Hays State University, working towards a degree in marketing.
