| ABILENE — Congressman Jerry Moran has announced the 2005 First District Service Academy Selection Board. The 16-member board reviews applications and interviews candidates who are applying for admission to U.S. Service Academies. These include the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
“Service Academies train our country’s military leaders of tomorrow, and I am honored to be a part of the nomination process,” Moran said. “The 2005 Selection Committee is comprised of community leaders from across Kansas who understand the dedication and discipline required to attend a Service Academy. I appreciate their service and value their input in these important selections.”
