CIMARRON — Congressman Jerry Moran today announced he will host a forum next week for veterans in southwest Kansas to discuss health care and benefits provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Tom Sanders, Director for the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center, and Charles Woolford, Director for the Robert J. Dole VA Regional Office, will join Moran to hear the thoughts and concerns of veterans at next week’s event.
“Our country owes a tremendous debt to veterans who served on our behalf,” Moran said. “This forum is an opportunity to hear directly from our veterans about their needs and the challenges they face, so that we may do a better job of providing them with the highest quality of care possible.”
This is the sixth forum on veterans’ issues hosted by Moran. Previous forums have been in Sabetha, Salina, Clay Center, Goodland and Hutchinson. Moran is a member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee and has served as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Health.
The event will be Tuesday, November 22, from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. at the Cimarron Library, 120 N. Main. Members of Moran’s staff will be on hand along with representatives from the VA to handle any concerns that veterans or their families may have. All area veterans, as well as other members of the public are encouraged to attend.
