WASHINGTON, DC - May 28, 2008 – Madelynn Ringo, a member of the Bethlehem High School Class of 2008, has been selected as this year’s winner of the Artistic Discovery Congressional Art Competition for Kentucky’s Second Congressional District.

Ms. Ringo’s artwork, a charcoal drawing titled “Still Life in the Art Room,” will be on public display in the U.S. Capitol Building throughout the next year.

“I am always proud to celebrate the talents and achievements of young men and women in the Second Congressional District,” said Lewis. “It is my honor to showcase Ms. Ringo’s artistic gift for thousands of visitors to see and appreciate in the coming year.”
An Artistic Discovery is an annual art competition, coordinated by the Congressional Arts Caucus, for student artists in grades nine through twelve. One winning entry is selected for each Congressional District to be displayed as part of a public exhibition celebrating artistic talent from across the country.
