WASHINGTON, D.C – The Defense Logistics Agency, a combat support agency that provides supplies and services to America's military forces, announced today finalization of a multimillion dollar contract with Campbellsville Apparel to produce undershirts for the United States Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps.

“I congratulate Campbellsville Apparel for their success in receiving this contract,” said U.S. Rep. Ron Lewis. “The company deserves praise for its continued efforts to keep good jobs in the local community, supplying the Department of Defense and other clients with quality, American-made clothing.

The new contract underscores the economic renaissance continuing to occur in Taylor County as a result of partnerships between local business, government and education officials to provide manufacturing workers with training opportunities to better compete in a changing global economy.

Lewis invited several colleagues from the House Ways and Means Committee to join him on a tour of Campbellsville Apparel in May 2004 following a roundtable discussion about the area’s economic recovery.

“Campbellsville Apparel remains an integral part of the region’s comeback,” said Lewis. “Opportunities such as this to produce world-class products showcase the resilience and unique skill of the local workforce, making Campbellsville an attractive place to live and do business.”
