Washington, DC – Congressman William J. Jefferson (D-La.) is scheduled to testify Wednesday, February 28th before the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations.  The hearing will start at 2pm and will take place in Room 2128 of the Rayburn House Office Building.

Congressman Jefferson will discuss the difficulties Louisiana homeowners and potential homeowners face with insurance companies in the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

“I am grateful to Subcommittee Chairman Mel Watt for holding this hearing to focus on the issue of insurance problems for Louisiana hurricane victims.  Obtaining good coverage for many of these residents has become an unforeseen obstacle preventing them from simply moving back to their homes and restarting their lives in Louisiana communities”, Jefferson said.
