Amount Requested: - $3,000,000

Funds will be used to repair/restore the 0.7 mile Hyannisport Breakwater to its original authorized dimensions. The project will include dredging 7,200 cubic yards of material as well as completing 5-9 tons of stone work. The breakwater shelters the mooring field and beaches of the coastal area of Hyannis.  Taxpayer funds are used to fix roads and bridges, but in many cases federal funding for dredging projects are shortchanged in the budget process.  Consequently, the only way the work can be done is if it is sponsored as an “earmark” by a Member of Congress.
