Last year, Congressman John Sarbanes introduced legislation to honor Cal Ripken Jr. on his induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame by renaming I-395 in Baltimore. “Cal Ripken Way” became law in September and was supported by every member of the Maryland delegation.
“Cal’s stellar career and his contributions to our community no doubt make him worthy of this honor,” said Congressman Sarbanes. “When travelers come to visit Baltimore, or pass by I-395 on their way to another destination, they will not only be reminded of a terrific ballplayer, but also a model American and the promise of doing things the “Ripken Way.”
