Washington, DC -- Johns Hopkins University received a grant from the National Institute of Justice under the Federal Department of Justice. The grant is awarded for the amount of $581,232.00 and the grant project is titled “Violence Against Women Research and Evaluation”.
The aim of the project is to both implement and evaluate the use of a Lethality Assessment protocol and intervention for Intimate Partner Violence (IPV). Specifically, the research will work with six police departments in Oklahoma where a large number of IPV victims are Native American.
The goal of the grant research is to nationally introduce a criminal justice and social service intervention that can be used in many U.S. jurisdictions to respond in policy and practice to the problems of IPV.
