Staement on Nomination of Judge Andre Davis |

Washington, D.C. — Today, Congressman Elijah E. Cummings (D-Md.) released the following statement in response to the nomination of Judge Andre M. Davis to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit:
“I first met Judge Davis more than thirty years ago at the University of Maryland Law School, where the two of us were students, and I was as impressed by his brilliance then as I am today. Judge Davis has always been extremely competent, both as an attorney and a judge. He has consistently rendered very fair and thoughtful decisions, and he will undoubtedly be a significant contributor to the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court. I will do everything in my power to support his confirmation, and I applaud President Barack Obama for picking such an outstanding candidate for this nomination.”
