WASHINGTON D.C. — We are currently taking requests for inauguration swearing-in tickets. However, the number of tickets for the swearing-in ceremony is very limited. Please be advised that placing a request does not guarantee that you will receive a ticket. Information regarding the awarding of tickets will follow in the near future.
Please read the following information about the 2009 Inauguration:
Swearing-in Ceremony
Constituents of Michigan’s 14th Congressional District can request tickets from our office for the Inaugural events at the Capitol only, including the oaths of office for the President and the Vice President:
• Constituents of the 14th Congressional District of Michigan can call to request inauguration tickets or requests to john.conyers@mail.house.gov
• Please include the following information in your email:
o Subject Heading: inauguration ticket request
o Contact Name
o Residential Address
o Telephone number
o E-mail address
o Number of tickets requested
Helpful information:
• More information will follow soon regarding ticket distribution.
• Other events can be found at http://www.inaugural.senate.gov and updates will be made there first.
Inaugural Parade
The Presidential Inaugural Committee organizes the Inaugural Parade that begins at approximately 2:00 pm following the activities at the Capitol. The parade is open to the public with non-ticketed viewing areas. Requests by bands, schools, military personal, etc. to participate in the Inauguration day events are collected by the Armed Forces Inaugural Committee (http://www.afic.northcom.mil).
Inaugural Balls
The Presidential Inaugural Committee plans the official Inaugural Balls. These events require tickets. Our office does not have access to these tickets. Please check http://www.inaugural.senate.gov for updates.
Chairman’s Inaugural Reception
Due to limited space and frigid January conditions, Congressman Conyers will host a reception in the Judiciary Committee room, 2141 Rayburn House Office Building. There will also over flow rooms The room will be open from 7am-5pm. Refreshments will be served and the ceremony will be televised on the large screen monitors in. Pleased be advised that the lines leading to the Rayburn Building will be long, so, schedule accordingly.
