(Washington D.C.)- Congressman Carnahan's bill H.R. 1728 directs the Secretary of the Interior to conduct a study of the historical sites/assets in Ste. Genevieve County to determine whether or not some locations can become a unit of the National Park System. The National Park System is charged with the trust of preserving natural resources, and would ensure that the historical assets of Ste. Genevieve County are preserved.
The measure which passed on a unanimous voice vote by the House late Tuesday, February 28, will now move onto the Senate for consideration.
