(Washington, D.C) U.S. Congressman Sam Graves praised a grant for the Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport from the Airport Improvement Program. The $4.2 million dollar grant will be used for the rehabilitation of the runway. These repairs will extend the useful life of the taxiways.
"This grant will allow our downtown airport to continue its mission of catering to corporate, charter and recreational flyers,” said Graves, a member of the Aviation subcommittee in Congress. “It is an asset for all of Kansas City and I’m pleased we were able to make this money available.”
The money is part of the Airport Improvements Program designed to help airports across the country continue to make needed improvements to their infrastructure. Graves is a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
