Some months ago, we learned the updated long-range plan for Kansas City International Airport favors a single, large terminal – rather than the three terminals that have been such a hit with area residents since the airport opened.
Now we understand KCI officials contend customer convenience is “our top goal.”
Do you see a disconnect there? Whether you do or not, it’s good news that U.S. Rep. Sam Graves, R-Tarkio, does.
Congressman Graves added a consumer provision to a House bill approved May 21 reauthorizing the Federal Aviation Administration. The language of the bill requires that customer convenience be considered when airports update their master plans every 10 years.
“We have a lot of folks out there that love the convenience of the Kansas City airport. That’s one of the biggest things it’s got going for it,” Rep. Graves told The Kansas City Star.
