(Washington, D.C) U.S. Congressman Sam Graves announced that he has secured $539,000 in funding for the Little Otter Creek Watershed project in a bill that passed the House late Monday. The funding will be used to assist with the construction of Caldwell County Lake.
“Caldwell County needs a reliable source of drinking water,” said Graves. “This is a project with deep support in the area and this funding should help make it a reality.”
The funding was requested by Graves and included in the Agriculture Appropriations bill that passed the House of Representatives earlier this year. However a final bill never made it to the President’s desk. Instead, funding was included in the Omnibus Appropriations Bill that passed the House on Monday night. That bill is expected to be passed in the Senate and sent to the President this week.
Graves secured over $300,000 for the project in Fiscal Year 2003.
