(Washington, D.C) U.S. Congressman Sam Graves announced that he has secured one million in funding for St. Joseph in the Omnibus Appropriations bill. The funding will be used for infrastructure improvements to handle storm water and waste water run-off.
“It has been a difficult year for St. Joseph in terms of dealing with mother nature,” said Graves, who helped sandbag in St. Joseph during the May floods. “This funding will help St. Joseph prepare for future floods.”
The Omnibus also includes the Blacksnake Creek Basin Flood Control project. No funding has been designated for the project, but it ensures that it will be eligible for federal assistance.
The Omnibus bill now heads to the Senate where it is expected to be approved this week and sent to the President for his signature.
