Graves Announces USDA Help Headed to Carrollton

(Washington, D.C) U.S. Congressman Sam Graves announced today that the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Rural Development program has approved a grant of $1,913,600 and a guaranteed loan of $2,034,000 to the town of Carrollton. The funding will be used to improve the wastewater treatment plant, the pumping station and the distribution system.

“This is a project that has wide and deep support in the community,” said Graves. “When this project was presented to me, I was excited to work with community leaders improve their town. I am glad the USDA Rural Development program also recognizes the importance of water quality in rural Missouri.”

USDA Rural Development's mission is to increase economic opportunity and improve the quality of life for rural residents. Rural Development fosters growth in homeownership, finances business development, and supports creation of critical community and technology infrastructure. Further information on rural programs is available at a local USDA Rural Development office or by visiting USDA's web site at http://www.rurdev.usda.gov.
