Emerson Says MO Veterans Commission Can Help Vets – March 16, 2010
WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) today reminded Missourians who have served our country that the Missouri Veterans Commission is available to serve them and surviving spouses of members of the U.S. military.“I very much appreciate all of the military men and women who are now serving or have served us in the past in all branches of the armed services,” Emerson said. “The debt of gratitude we owe them is greater than the sum of the benefits we can offer, but at the very least we need to be sure that we are honoring our country’s promise to every eligible veteran or surviving spouse in Missouri. I very much appreciate the work of the Missouri Veterans Commission to serve the Americans who have diligently served us.”
The Missouri Veterans Commission is online at www.mvc.dps.mo.gov. Click Veterans Service, select Location and find your County of residence. From there, the website will provide contact information to make an appointment with the specialists of the Missouri Veterans Commission. Information can also be obtained by calling Mr. Douglas Meyer at the Missouri Veterans Commission at (314) 552-9890.
Members of Emerson’s staff are also available to act as a liaison between veterans or their families and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
