WASHINGTON   –  U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) will visit volunteers who have been assisting low-income and senior citizens with their federal and state tax preparation since February 1 on Wednesday, the deadline for filing federal income tax returns.

“Our tax code can be extremely difficult to understand, and it is a great service these volunteers provide by helping citizens with their tax forms,” Emerson said.  “I’m grateful to our local tax experts for lending a hand to people in our communities who cannot afford professional tax advice, and I look forward to thanking them in person in Dexter on Wednesday.”
