Washington, DC - Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) today announced funding of a water and waste disposal grant. The funding, which was awarded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Office of Rural Development provides a $260,000 grant and a $450,000 loan for the City of Holcomb. The USDA also awarded a grant for $13,350 to the City of Iron Mountain Lake for a new emergency siren warning system.
gOur communities benefit greatly from the services and supplies that have been made possible by this funding,h said Emerson. gI am proud of the work that Iron Mountain Lake and Holcomb put into securing these funds because they are investment dollars that are a direct return of their taxpayer dollars. I can think of no better way to make those dollars work for us than by reinvesting them into our Missouri communities.h
The project was awarded to:
-
City of Holcomb (Dunklin County) $260,000 Rural development funds will be used to upgrade a sewer system by developing an aerated lagoon, replacing/repairing lift stations and extending the collection system to add 27 users.
