Washington, DC - Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) today announced funding of a water and waste disposal grant. The funding, which was awarded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Office of Rural Development provides a $1,218,500 grant and a $1,827,700 loan for Public Water and Sewer District #5 (PWSD #5) of New Madrid County.
“Our communities benefit greatly from the services and supplies that have been made possible by this funding,” said Emerson. “I am proud of the work the PWSD #5 has put into securing these funds because they are investment dollars that are a direct return of their taxpayer dollars. I can think of no better way to make those dollars work for us than by reinvesting them into our Missouri communities.”
