WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) will attend the open house and dedication of Sikeston’s first house built by Habitat for Humanity on Saturday, March 1 at 2:00 p.m. CST. Last September, Emerson was also present for the groundbreaking at the site of the new home.
“It’s a great thrill to see this project come to fruition, thanks entirely to the hard work and dedication of volunteers. Shelter is a basic human need, and the lucky occupants of this home will have the best shelter this community can give them. I’m so proud of all the members of our community who came together to make this project possible, and I look forward to seeing the completed home on Saturday,” Emerson said. “I hope this is just the beginning of future efforts to provide housing to our deserving neighbors in need.”
