FAA Creates Center of Excellence at UM-Rolla

WASHINGTON  -  U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) announced the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is launching a new program that will include the University of Missouri – Rolla.

"The University of Missouri – Rolla has proven time and again they are a great resource for engineering research.  It is a real honor for the university to be included as one of eight schools nationwide in this collaborative project.  I am certain the University will be a credit to our district as work gets underway."

The FAA Center of Excellence for Aircraft Noise and Aviation Emissions Mitigation is a partnership of academia, industry, and government created to identify solutions for existing and anticipated aircraft noise and emissions-related problems.

"Logistical problems facing the airline industry need solutions now.  Noise and pollution are growing concerns, and there is no quick fix.  The University of Missouri – Rolla has a tremendous opportunity to put its expertise to work solving these problems for the air transportation industry."
