WASHINGTON   –  U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) will tour the Academic Support Center on the West Plains Campus of Missouri State University on Thursday, March 20 at 1:00 p.m.  Emerson will tour one of the labs and meet with teachers who work in the program.

“This important initiative really helps fill out the academic experience for Missouri State University Students in West Plains.  Academic facilities like this one are central to the mission of higher education in Southern Missouri,” Emerson said.  “I am proud West Plains is home to this project and its dedicated teachers, as well as the ambitious students who make use of every resource at their disposal as they pursue college degrees.”

For FY 2008, Emerson helped to secure $200,000 in federal appropriations for the Academic Support Center.
