Washington - U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) today announced two loans to construct an additional 24 units of assisted living housing in West Plains, MO. The first is a $2 million loan, which is supplemented by a $640,000 conditional commitment for a guaranteed loan.
“This is big news for West Plains and Howell County,” Emerson said. “This housing project is a much-needed facility for members of our community who need assisted-living care. Rural Development has really selected a worthwhile use for these loan funds, and the cooperation of the Howell County Branch of the Bank of Thayer is also very important to this pair of loans.”
In addition, Emerson announced a $100,000 Rural Business Enterprise Grant to the City of Cabool in Texas County to a new business in the new industrial park.
“When we have the opportunity to attract or grow businesses, it is very important that our communities have the resources they need to facilitate growth. Not only will this grant help achieve this goal, it will also create jobs of its own,” Emerson said.
Rural Development anticipates the project will create 32 new jobs. |
