Washington - U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) tomorrow will welcome Deputy Associate Attorney General Tracy Henke to a roundtable for law enforcement officials at Southeast Missouri State University. The event, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. CST, will focus on grant funding from the U.S. Department of Justice for local, state, and other programs. It will be held in the main meeting room of the Show Me Center.
“I’m pleased to welcome Tracy to SEMO,” Emerson said. “Her input and guidance on the federal grant process stem from years of hands-on experience. The insight she can offer to our local law enforcement officers can be of real value to their programs and to our Southern Missouri communities.”
Ms. Henke will address grant programs in her remarks, but she will also talk about the role of the Police Corps in law enforcement.
“Tracy works hand-in-hand with our Attorney General Ashcroft on issues that affect federal funding to the law enforcement community. It is helpful to us to hear about opportunities to improve law enforcement on the local level, and our input also helps her when she returns to Washington to address these issues at the federal level. This is a great chance to talk about the future of public safety.”
Prior to joining the Department of Justice, Ms. Henke worked for U.S. Senators Kit Bond and John Danforth of Missouri. Ms. Henke is a native of Moscow Mills, MO.
